Come Do the Work

Verdict is a regulatory compliance and governance firm. We take on the compliance work for the organizations we serve and run it on software we built and operate ourselves. That means the people who use our platform are our own practitioners, and the feedback loop between building something and watching it get used is about as short as it gets.

Open Roles

Product Manager

Product · Washington, DC or Remote (US) · Full time

Own what our platform does for the practitioners who use it every day. Our people run client compliance programs on our own software, which means the users you are building for sit down the hall from you and will tell you exactly what is slowing them down.

What you will do

  • Own the roadmap for a product area, from the problem statement through to what actually ships.
  • Work directly with the practitioners running client engagements to find where the work is slow, repetitive, or error-prone, and decide what is worth solving in software.
  • Write clear specifications that engineers can build from without a meeting to decode them.
  • Define what a feature has to do before it is considered done, and hold the line on that.
  • Partner with design on workflows that hold up under real evidence volumes, not demo data.
  • Decide what not to build, and be able to explain the reasoning to the people who wanted it.

What we are looking for

  • Experience owning a software product or a substantial product area end to end.
  • Comfort working closely with a technical team and reasoning about system constraints without needing every trade-off translated.
  • Strong written communication. Much of this job is making a complicated situation legible to someone who was not in the room.
  • Willingness to learn a regulated domain in depth. You do not need a compliance background, but you do need to want one.
  • Judgment about scope. Knowing when a rough version answers the question and when it does not.

Technical Program Manager

Engineering · Washington, DC or Remote (US) · Full time

Keep complex, deadline-bound work moving across engineering and the practitioners running client engagements. Compliance work has hard external dates attached to it, and this role is why those dates hold.

What you will do

  • Run delivery for programs that span engineering, the compliance practice, and client commitments.
  • Turn an ambiguous objective into a plan with owners, sequencing, and a realistic critical path.
  • Track dependencies and surface risk early enough that it is still a decision rather than a problem.
  • Keep engineering and the practice teams working from the same picture of status and priority.
  • Drive the operational cadence, including planning, reviews, and retrospectives that people find worth attending.
  • Communicate status honestly, including when something has slipped and what is being done about it.

What we are looking for

  • Experience running technical programs across multiple teams with real external deadlines.
  • Ability to read a technical design discussion and understand what is actually being debated.
  • A track record of finding the dependency nobody flagged, before it becomes the reason something slipped.
  • Directness. This role only works if you are willing to say a date is at risk while there is still time to act.
  • Familiarity with regulated or audited environments is useful but not required.
